Chillin -
Birthday
7/27/87 Silver Stadium -
Tour Memory "Seeing the Dead was always a
great adventure, especially outdoors where the weather could be a factor.
This gig in Rochester was held in the minor league baseball park for the
Baltimore Orioles. When it started to pour, our group moved the party to
the third base dugout. Of course when bobby belted out "Looks Like Rain" we
moved it back to the diamond and became a rain-soaked choir of one."

Music Festival Tour Memory
"Oh, the fruits of life in Jamaica are very,
very good. Throw in a bunch of friends and the Dead, and they are very,
very great. We flew down to Montego Bay to see our boys in the land where
reggae music was born, lives and breathes. It was a festival with many
great acts. The greatest of them all hit the stage at 4:30 AM and they
never were a second late...morning glory at it's best." 7 1/2 inches

Great Beyond -

5/23/93 at Shoreline Tour Memory "What
stands out about my favorite Dead shows is the incredible flow of the set
lists. This Shorline gem featured old staples like "Jack Straw" and "Music
Never Stopped", and new originals like "Wave to the Wind" and "Days
Between". The show closed with "Not Fade Away" and "Lucy in the Sky with
Diamonds". Buddy Holly and John Lennon must have been groovin' from the
grave." 7 1/2 inches tall |

"Back in '79, I
decided to surprise my little brother for Christmas, so he found a Dead
ticket in his stocking. He'd never been to a show, and it seemed the right
time for him to get deadicated. He dug it immensely, and ended up becoming
a major head. The coolest part about it is that years later, the show ended
up as a Dick's Pick, and a moment frozen in time for both of us." 7 1/2

"It's amazing how
deadheads think alike and can read each other's minds. A buddy from work
and I booked up to Maine on a Thursday to see The Dead. Midway through the
second set when they launched into "Space" we simultaneously burst out
laughing, celebrating the insanity on stage. The same thing happened for
the encore, "Day Job", knowing that work on Friday was out of the question."

at Oakland Coliseum Tour Memory "You never know what you're
gonna see or hear at a Dead show. I hadn't been to a show for years, so I
had almost forgotten what a crazy scene it was. During the drum solo, they
had these fake dragons dancing across the stage. (Trust me, it really
happened, I've got witnesses.) For the encore, they did "Rain" by the
Beatles. It was the tour de force, and the last thing I expected."

Tour Memory "Christmastime is always a
special time to see The Dead, especially in San Francisco, where it all
began for them and me. I can remember them sharing the bill with Chuck
Berry at the old Fillmore back in '67. So it gave me a huge chill when they
played two of Chuck's chestnuts, "Around and Around" into "Johnny B. Goode"
late in the second set. It was the best belated Christmas present anyone
could give to me." 9 inches tall |

Warlock -
Birthday 10/9/89
Hampton Coliseum Tour Memory "The best Dead show I saw
wasn't technically a Dead show. They were billed as the Warlocks, because
the town was too uptight to let The Grateful Dead perform. So they flashed
back to their old moniker. That night they dusted off "Dark Star", and the
first "Attics of my Life" since '72 for the encore. It was icing on the
cake. Everyone just wandered out of the hall amazed, almost speechless."
