He'd never been to a show, and it seemed the right time for him to get deadicated. He dug it immensely, and ended up becoming a major head. I can remember them sharing the bill with Chuck Berry at the old Fillmore back in '67. So it gave me a huge chill when they played two of Chuck's chestnuts, "Around and Around" into "Johnny B. Goode" late in the second set.
